@OlivierCHERY, a teacher-researcher at ENSGSI since 1994, agreed to give us an interview on the subject of sustainable development and social responsibility.

As Director of Studies and SD&RS referent, Mr. Chery is the key player in the implementation of this approach within the school.

  1. Saving energy and heating.
  2. A "zero waste" approach.

Both are part of the same logic, but the DD&RS approach is :

  • More time-consuming.
  • More similar to an ISO 9001 quality approach.
  • More complete with its social responsibility dimension

Short-term objectives?

Over 1 or 2 years, the objectives are :

  • An overhaul of teaching to anchor the SD&RS approach and its challenges.
  • DD&RS certification.

Long-term objectives?

Over 5 or 10 years, the objectives are :

The DD&RS dimension must be totally anchored and become an integral part of the school. We have to stop saying "this is DD&RS", it has to become natural and automatic.

What's next?

The next actions are :

  • Next Thursday DD&RS: SDIS (Service Départementale d'Incendie et de Secours) presentation on crisis management.
  • 2-tonne workshop for 2nd-year engineering students.
  • Installation of the climate fresco.

A final word ...

A message to pass on to our elders?

The school is on the move and taking account of societal issues.

My change of job: after 7 years as Research Director & SD&RS referent, I'm going to be fully in charge of the SD&RS mission.

The same message to the alumni, adding that we'll succeed in anchoring this approach at the school thanks to everyone's involvement!
