The ENSGSI's commitment to SD&RS!
Find out how ENSGSI, which has been committed to Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility for 14 years, is shaping a committed university community.
Since 2010, ENSGSI has been committed to sustainable development and social responsibility. Firstly, within the"Green Plan", an approach focused on sustainable development encouraged by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
Then, following the creation of the DD&RS (Sustainable Development & Social Responsibility) label in 2015, the school embarked on a DD&RS approach through various cross-functional actions.
Actions ... for the school
Those who have already passed through the doors of ENSGSI have probably noticed the various sorting garbage cans and drinks dispensers equipped with reusable cup recognition. This is part of the"zero waste" approach implemented since 2018.
In addition, the school aims to reduce its environmental impact by 25% over 3 years. This ambition is put into practice through courses and training for students on these themes, research projects in partnership with the Lorraine Fab Living Lab, for example, as well as the dissemination of information on workshops or challenges organized at the school or within the Université de Lorraine.
In terms of corporate social responsibility, we can mention the Lorraine co-delegation of the national association"Elles Bougent", which has already been the subject of an article on the Agora, as well as the opening of the EDI (Égalité Diversité Inclusion) unit in 2021.
Actions ... for students
As far as students are concerned, several modules and workshops are integrated into their curriculum to raise awareness and educate them about environmental and social issues.
In addition to the academic curriculum, lectures and workshops are also offered as part of"Jeudis DD&RS", an event organized by Mr. Chery, ENSGSI's sustainable development quality advisor.
Il y a notamment eu l'intervention de l'entreprise Neoen en juin 2023, le premier producteur indépendant français d'énergies renouvelables, ainsi que celle de RESAP Paris, une marque d'upcycling qui revalorise des vêtements.
The diversity and sexism fresco workshops were also proposed to open the debate on the inequalities and discrimination present in our society.
Proof that this approach is a current debate, the students themselves are mobilized within the school's associations, notably Adelphe , which fights against all forms of discrimination, and TsikyGsi, the humanitarian and ecological association.

Actions ... for staff
The DD&RS intention affects all ENSGSI members, including staff.
The EDI unit enables the teaching team and administrative staff to be at the heart of the commitment, hand in hand with student volunteers, to promote an equitable and respectful university community.
In addition, all"SD&RS Thursdays", led by Mr Chery, are also open to staff.
Finally, every Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, a"better-being" workshop is also organized for them.
This DD&RS approach is comprehensive and encompasses many of the criteria that ENSGSI has been striving to promote for the past 14 years. It is essential for the school to evolve with the contemporary issues that concern us all. These commitments enable everyone to feel integrated and included while fighting for essential causes.
